...Greetings, dear sponsors. My name is Chutima Sae-wa. Thank you, sponsors, for your faithful support to me. May God bless you very much. We children thank you very much for continuing to support us through the years. I’m now in Secondary Grade 3 (Grade 9). I’ve grown up a lot since I first came here when I was five years old. Thanks to your support I have grown up and become a good girl and have come to know God. And also God is blessing us children at The House of Blessing. How are you supporters doing? May God watch over all of you, giving you good work and keeping you in good health. I want to thank God for bringing me here to The House of Blessing and for his good care over me both physically and spiritually. God has also answered my prayer, because he arranged for us to reach this verse: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” I’m so thankful to God! |

My name is Thiwa Khlongklaeo (“Top”). I’m thankful for my school uniform, schoolbooks, and backpack that sponsors bought for me and all the children at The House of Blessing. I hope that all you supporters have good health and wisdom. Thank you for the place I live. Even though I don’t live with my parents, I’m better off than children that don’t have any parents and don’t have money to go to school. I’m very fortunate. Thank God! |

PS' father left her mother even before she was born. Her crippled mother was sent to the Patronage House while the child lived with her uncle. Her uncle who is also poor never had time to look after her, thus she was sent to the House of Blessing. |
CS' parents divorced even before she was born. Her mother was responsible for the 3 kids in the family. Living in poverty the task was very difficult. Every child was sent to the orphanage community unit. And CS was taken care of by the House of Blessing. |
LP and NP's mother had been sick for sometime. Then one day she fell and banged her head on the ground. This accident killed her. She died on October 1996. Their father is also very ill after being hit by a car. He is semi-paralyzed, unable to speak and mentally disabled. He is not able to relate or care for his children in any way. He cannot care for himself let alone go out and find work to earn money. Their older sister was also able to help bring them up, however she must also care for their disabled father as well as other smaller children. Great tragedy has fallen on this family to a degree that very few people would be able to cope with. |
SS and VS are sisters who are orphans. They lived with their uncle (father's younger brother). Altogether there are 8 siblings in this family. Their father was struck by a falling tree and later died. Four years later their mother died of tetanus. These children were left with no one to take care of them; only an old maternal grandmother who cared for them with difficulty. So they moved to stay with their uncle. This uncle had taken in many of his nieces and nephews and had children of his own as well, so he was unable to care for these 2. And because of this family's poverty it was necessary to send them to the House of Blessing who can take care of them. |
NF's parents separated when she was 7 months old. As a result her mother had to search for work in Bangkok (450 km awway from home) inorder to take care of NF and her father (NF's grandfather) who is physically and mentally disabled. |
GP's mother died in 1994 when he was only 2 years old. His father is a bad-tempered and violent man who often got into trouble with his family and people in his village. One evening after another argument with somebody, his father got drunk. He bought some petrol and climbed on the roof of their small house. The roof and walls of their house was made of thatched grass. His father then poured petrol into the house on the spot where his mother was sitting and holding him. Then his father threw a lighted match onto the petrol-covered floor and their house went up in flames. His mother did not suspect that his father was going to burn their house down. She was not quick enough to escape and was burnt alive. Praise GOd that the boy was able to escape but he was badly burnt. Even now the burns have not completely healed. His father was arrested and put in jail for the rest of his life. Since that day his father has never been interested in him. His grandmother looked after him for 3 years but she was often ill and was not strong enough to care for him. So he was sent to live with his uncle for 3 months. This was also not good because he was very poor and so was not able to care for him properly, either. He ended up going to work in the rice field, which often made him sick. It was during this time that he had the opportunity to go and live at the House of Blessing. Now he is happy and likes living there. |
